The project manager will report to application delivery program officer / client relationship officer and will have overall responsibility for the oversight and management of the Solaris 10 migration and other projects related to Summit renewal program. The Summit Renewal Project has different phases and currently the project team is working on upgrading the operating system from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10. The Senior project manager is needed to work on the Solaris 10 migration and other sub-projects related to the Summit renewal program.Candidate should have minimum 8 years experience in IT development environment with 5 years in project management experience PMP certification is highly desirable Experience with financial COTS implementation is a plus Experience with internal controls and IT controls and compliance is a plus Responsibilities: Develop a test strategy and migration plan for the upgrade Document the project plan with clear responsibilities between the project and stake holders Work closely with the team members (developers, business analysts, vendor consultants and user leads) and put together all the detailed requirements for the upgrade Obtain a completed sign-off plan from the all the stakeholders and user groups Work with the other functional units in the IT department and make sure all the requirements are captured and documented as per the specification Manage and maintain regular status meetings with all the stake-holders and report on the status, issues and risks of all the project tasks. Analyze and document any issues or dependencies witholding the upgrade Closely monitor the deliverables by the vendor and promptly escalate the issues to Client relationship officer. Additional Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience in managing test execution Experience in recording, tracking, reporting and resolving issues Ability to develop close relationship with peers, vendors and user community |
