15+ years experience overall
12 years experience in Portal arena
5-8 years large company consulting experience
Comp: $130-160k + Bonus
Do you like the challenge of Architecting large Portal implementations?
An Enterprise Portal Architect is needed for large scale, high profile projects in the Mid West.
This is a large international consulting company seeking individuals with expertise who can handle a big role with commensurate rewards.
This Senior Architect role will plan, design, document, and oversee implementations of projects typically in the millions. Experience making presentations with Fortune 500 C-Suite executives for strategic, tactical and business development needs is required.
Experience on at least several successful Portal implementations
IBM Websphere / BEA Weblogic / Sharepoint / Open source Portal platforms
Experience in a broad range of technical disciplines and business domains
Experience in making the architectural decisions, leading and mentoring technical resources
Architectural understanding of: standards-based SOA/Web services with regard to application interfaces, open messaging platforms/EAI/MQ, database platforms, web technologies such as HTML, .NET, Java/J2EE, XML, XSL, Web 2.0 and industry standards and trends
Lead and define standard best practices including Portal security strategy
Good understanding of business processes, risk management and IT controls
Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for customer pertaining to enterprise technology such as Portal, ECM, Master Data, Integration, Business Intelligence, etc.
Select and implement the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support technology goals
Ability to trace information and content life cycles, mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and associated metadata within a specific system and across systems
Experience developing flexible portal/JSRs, SOA, and CMS based solutions
Experience configuring, debugging, and deploying enterprise applications in complex environments
Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering scalable and distributed web applications
Must have strong business acumen and the ability to identify key issues and the ability to identify key issues and their impact in a broad business context
Ability to integrate and work with disparate technology frameworks/patterns and applications running on diverse hardware and operating systems
Present and demonstrate Portal based solutions to clients
Work with Enterprise Architects to assess, evaluate & define Solution Architecture
Lead RFI/RFP response process
Prior experience in bidding B2C/B2B Portal deals and presenting the same to customers
Ability to structure delivery teams, handing them over with delivery oversight
Effectiveness presenting to large or small audiences to successfully influence executives, decision-makers and technical resources
Education and Qualifications
An undergraduate degree is required for this role, and an advanced degree is preferred. The ideal candidate has experience with process, technology, or business consulting in one of the “Big 5” or similar consultancies (CGE&Y, Accenture, IBM Global Consulting [formerly PWC Consulting], BearingPoint, Deloitte, Capco, BCS, TCS, Cognizant, Infosys ...). Candidates must have a successful track record selling and leading consulting projects.
Location: Chicago or Milwaukee area
Travel: Work will be local initially but must expect 80% Travel in the future (Leave Monday AM return Thursday afternoon)
